Lesson 8: Vamping/Backup - The Root Position Chord

In this lesson, you'll learn your first 4 finger chords! We refer to this chord as the 'root position' chord because the note that names the chord is the lowest note.

In the case of the first chord you play, this is a 'G' note. 

You'll learn 3 chords in this lesson and apply them to two songs you know - "I'll Fly Away" & "Boil Them Cabbage Down."

Vamping and Backup are what we do about 90% of the time so working on these skills is really important! It'll also make the musicians you jam with happy :).
